Norwalk, CT (February 8, 2011) – Organizers of International Vision Expo & Conference held March 18-20, 2011 (Conference: March 16–20, Exhibition: March 18–20) in New York City, are assuring attendees and exhibitors that the show will continue to provide the same outstanding service as in years past despite the renovation of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Along with the relocation of some show features to new and improved space within the Javits Center, show navigation will be enhanced by increased directional signage and the use of the latest technology.
The Javits Center’s renovation includes an expansion at 11th Avenue between 39th and 40th Streets containing 80,000 gross square feet of exhibition space to complement existing operations. Two of the show’s key features, the Underground and Galleria, will relocate to the Javits Center’s exciting new North Hall, located to the right of the A Hall, closest to West 39th Street.
“Using technology will help us ensure that Expo East attendees have an enjoyable, productive and seamless show experience,” said Tom Loughran, vice president for Reed Exhibitions. “In addition to using more signage, we are excited about the user-friendly Vision Mobile app and mobile website that offer virtual and live help on the show floor.”
Via a mobile device, attendees can integrate all their pre-show efforts made through their "My Show Planner" account, as well as explore exhibitor show specials and quickly navigate the show floor with the interactive map found through the application on their device. Accessing Vision Mobile can be done by signing up here.
As they travel the Expo East show floor and conference areas, attendees also will see Mobile Geniuses walking around the Javits Convention Center ready to provide the location of a booth for an appointment or a classroom number. Equipped with an iPad and a wealth of information, these Mobile Geniuses are another component of the show’s new navigation service.
In anticipation of this year’s New York City Half Marathon, a comprehensive communication plan is being developed to ensure that attendees and exhibitors do not experience delays in their schedules on Sunday, March 20th.
“We want to ensure that this year’s show is truly a memorable one for all attendees,” said Tom Loughran, vice president for Reed Exhibitions. “To that end, we are doing everything in our power to ensure that the Javits Center construction and Sunday’s half-marathon event do not affect the flow of the show.”
